The Poor Man wonders how crazy you have to be to be elected a Senator from Oklahoma, after finding out that Sen. Inhofe assesses the truthfulness of scientific research by counting the number of footnotes. For instance, if you compare a Michael Crichton novel which suggests that global warming doesn't exist and is instead a massive conspiracy involving every climatology scientist in the world to an overview of the Arctic Climate Impact Assessment which doesn't include the notes from the unreleased actual report, you find infinitely more in the Crichton novel. Therefore, the Crichton novel speaks the truth. So pretty damn crazy.
