I am pleasantly surprised (only somewhat surprised) to see Juan Cole and Brian Leiter (indirectly) come out in opposition to the boycott by one of the two main UK Professors unions of two universities in Israel. This is probably only interesting if you have some idea of their positions on Israeli issues in general, which I'm not providing in this post. Also, I'm not certain it's consistent with Leiter's oft-stated opposition to civility. I can imagine some ways in which it is consistent, and others in which it is not, depending on Leiter's motives for not being civil.
